SGPS Passes Motion in Support of TAFA

The Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS) passed a motion, without opposition, at their May 13, 2008 Council meeting in support of the efforts of TAFA to form a Local Union at Queen's to improve working conditions for Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows. SGPS hopes to open lines of communication between TAFA organizers and TAs and TFs on campus to better inform SGPS members and the campus community about TAFA and the benefits that TAFA is seeking to secure for graduate students. GTA Union at Western Supports TAFA Campaign

The Graduate Teaching Assistants' Union at the University of Western Ontario (www.gtaunion.com) has issued a statement in support of the efforts of Graduate TAs and TFs at Queen's University to form a Local Union of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
